DTF Printer costs are between around £1700 and £35,000 depending on your perspective and what you want to accomplish.
Entry level professional dtf printer cost starts closer to £6,000, which if you want to make a business of your direct to film printing, is what you should consider the floor for pricing. The cheaper dtf printers are generally re-engineered home printers, which can work, but with more ink and mechanical issues than make them particularly productive.
And now, in addition to that price range of dtf ONLY printers there’s a new generation of HYBRID printers on the market that are definitely worth considering.
The price range on a hybrid printer is roughly withing the same brackets but with a tantalizing range of capabilities.
Since dtf printer cost is our focus, we’ll list our industrial or professional level direct-to-film capable line up starting from least expensive.
This new in 2025!
The Prestige R1 A3 DTF Printer offers a compact, versatile solution for UK-based businesses in the custom apparel and promotional products industries.
Designed to handle A3-size prints, this printer is ideal for small to medium production runs, providing businesses with the flexibility to print everything from small logos to full garment transfers.
Need 2X the output speed? See the DTF Station R2 Pro below…
2025 update in speed and A3+ performance included
The R2 Pro from DTF Station and YES Group in the UK is an economical powerhouse if you’re looking for a 100% direct to film printer solution.
The R2 Pro uses dual heads to print up to 12.5 linear feet per hour of beautiful, high resolution, long lasting dtf prints. Which is particularly surprising because of its smaller 33mm or 14” print width. (the rest of our DTF only line up are 24” machines)
All that means that you can make 272 28 x 36cm full colour prints per 8 hour day.
And if you’re making custom t-shirts for retail sale, that translates into up to £1,333.00 a day in profits.
“24H2” indicates the DTF film roll width at 24 inches and the number of print heads in use – 2.
If you were comparing it to the Prestige R2 Pro above you’d find that they are both roll to roll style machines with inline tunnel dryers. Both have automatic powder applicators and shakers. And the print quality on both is very much on par.
But the dimensions of the machine give it higher output and greater flexibility for the size of the print itself.
The NEW DTF-24H2 Direct to Film Printer print between 45/55 Linear feet per hour. That translates into printing up to 100 Full Front Transfers per Hour!
Which means it can do in 2 hours more than the R2 Pro can do in an entire day… for just about an extra £20/week.
High volume, commercial printing of high quality DTF Transfers is what you’ll get with the DigitalHeat FX 24H4!
Like the 24H2 model, you have the 24”/60cm roll width that contributes to the volume it can produce, but it’s the number of print heads that drastically increases its custom dtf transfer output.
And that upgrade from 2 I3200 printheads to FOUR boosts potential production from 100 full shirt-front transfers per hour to a stunning THREE HUNDRED 10” X 10” dtf transfers per hour.
While you may not need to print 2,400 custom t-shirt transfers in a typical day – imagine getting an entire day… or WEEK… of transfer prints done in under an hours’ worth of work.
The sample payments you see listed here are based on a good financial records, 3 years in business and a specific financing term.
